Amber and I met at school. I found out I was pregnant in April of 2010. We had a few meetings together before my delivery to talk about my birth plan and to practice some different positions in labor that we would use when the moment came. She gave me and my fiance great books and information on delivery that helped ease our minds a little bit. I began labor and we called Amber, and she arrived at the hospital while they were checking me for dilation. We moved to our birthing suite, and labor was underway. Labor progressed quickly and through every contraction, Amber was by my side rubbing my head, putting pressure on my back, and helping me with different positions to help ease the pain. Her words were comforting and helped me so much. I got to 7 cm and I got into the bath tub, and knew that I wanted an epidural. Amber was there to help me weigh my options and encouraging me to keep going naturally(she knew I wanted to go naturally because of my birth plan). I was in too much pain and just wanted some relief. She listened to my request with respect after trying to talk me out of it like she knew I wanted her to do. We sat and talked until it was time to push. Amber was right by my side, holding my leg and giving me encouraging words until Grady was born. I did not want an epidural initially but was so very happy with how Grady's(my son) birth went. As a first-time mom, I didn't know how my delivery would go. I was terrified to lose control of the situation and take my stress out on my fiance and was so relieved to have a professional with us to make the labor stress-free and as relaxing as possible, and it certainly was just that. I loved having our meetings and being able to ask her questions and to have her at my delivery. She is very knowledgable and I look back on Grady's birth with such happiness.

We just gave birth to our firstborn and wanted someone with experience to walk with us through the process, help us think through issues related to labor and delivery, and help us out through it all. Amber was the doula to us that we needed and wanted. Amber met with us three times before labor and delivery, and was readily available through emails, phone calls, and text messaging as the due date approached. She made us feel completely comfortable contacting her at any hour of the night with our questions, and gave us great tips to help get through the initial labor contractions and uncomfortability of the last month. Additionally, she is a certified lactation consultant and helped us with our breastfeeding questions and concerns.

Throughout labor and delivery, she was compassionate, attentive, 100% focused on my needs, supportive, and so encouraging. I needed that encouragement most to get through a difficult labor and delivery. I would recommend Amber without any reservations. She is truly knowledgable, attentive, and a solid support through the labor and delivery process and afterwards.

Amber was an awesome addition to my birthing experience. We called her only 2 weeks before my due date, and in a short time of talking we were very comfortable with her. She had the calming but motivated attitude I needed to push me through the contractions. If she had not been there, I believe my labor may of been a bad experience (my husband doesnt handle me in pain very well). She was able to suggest things that I would not have thought of, and encouraged me to try a few different things (that helped a lot!!). She stood by for everything and was a very active supporter.

I needed a doula not only who would help me but who would help my boyfriend understand why i might be yelling at him! Amber was perfect! She helped me out so much! When my car broke down she was there to help me get to my apts! And even tho there was no screaming at Andrew she helped us out so much! When I was in labor at home she just steped right in and helped with the pain! Not only was Amber the perfect doula for me she became one of my best friend!
