Working with Chris was wonderful. She was my midwife's assistant. She was comforting emotionally, physically, and spiritually. She was there through the toughtest moments, supporting me through the ups and down of the childbirth process. She was understanding, and was always very interwined even throughout the pregnancy. Chris has a very gentle approach, and is so highly recommended!
I cannot stress enough what a wonderful person and doula Chris is. She assisted during my home birth and came to the hospital when I had to be transferred there. I can honestly say she was the only person I wanted around to comfort me. Not my darling husband, not the midwife or my parents but Chris. She has a beautiful calming presence and infinite patience. I remember being in desperate need or rest and Chris massaging me until I finally fell asleep or her gently trying to help me eat and drink while everyone else kept just pushing me too hard.
Her presence alone helped me through what I thought was the longest labor! I dont exagerate when I tell my husband that she was an angel sent to help me!
I am definitly going to want her there for my next baby!
Chris Waters was a doula at my home birth. I couldn't have asked for a better person to be by my side during the birth of my first child.
She was simply amazing, rushing over when I went into labor, words of encouragement at the right time, massage when the pain was becoming unbearable, made sure I ate and most of all the love and care with which she did everything!
I would love to have Chris at my next birth, this lady is priceless and I highly recommend her to any expecting mother!
During my pregnancy, Chris was a constant comfort and a steadfast base of knowledge. While she made suggestions, she didn't overwhelm me or push her own point of view. While she had experience (personal and professional) to offer, she was definitely "all about me," and very respectful of my opinion, views, and beliefs. She quickly picked up on what I was comfortable with and thought would be helpful to me (as far as exercises, meditations, etc.) and quickly adapted her plans.
Chris was also wonderful in communicating with my husband. The three of us formed a team that I was very comfortable with and, just as importantly, so was my husband. He enjoyed talking to her and was comfortable asking her questions and seeking her advice. At the same time, neither he nor I ever felt like she was taking over his role as my husband and partner in the pregnancy and birth. She became not only my assistant, but his as well.
From my first phone call ("I think it's time!"), to my nod goodbye over my newborn daughter's head as she nursed (Chris helped with the latch), Chris was an invisible, yet solid presence at the birth. She was there when I needed her to be, and out of sight when I needed private time with my hubby. She pushed me when I needed to be pushed, and stood up for me to medical staff when I needed that. She was adept at dealing with and communicating with doctors, nurses, and midwives. All, with a peace that was oh so welcome. She even visited us a few times afterwards, and shared knowledge, wisdom, and laughs.
Chris loves birth, babies, and women. If you're considering her as a doula, you should know you may end up with a friend.
My experience with Chris Waters (Robertazzi) was fabulous! She is a very warm and compassionate person. She was always available for me when I needed her and always gave me a sense of security. Although, we met several times I cannot say I was fortunate enough to have her with me when I was attempting my VBAC. I am sure had she been with me she would have been great!!! Thanks again Chris for all that you did for me and my family!
Chris is a most wonderful person and great doula. I can't recommend her highly enough.
Our experience was a short one - Chris was our back-up doula and I only met her once before the birth of our second baby.
When labour started, our doula was out of the country and Chris took her place.
Even though she didn't know us very well, she fit right in, staying in the background when we had everything under control and being there when needed. I had a wonderful, medicine-free birth experience and Chris was a big and important part of it.
After birth she visited me in the hospital and also at home, being just as wonderful as always, making sure I was ok and got a little rest.
I'm still so impressed at how well everything went despite the fact that we were all so new to each other. Chris is truly a wonderful, caring, knowing doula who will help every pregnant woman she works with to have exactly the experience she wants.
Highly recommended, we love her!

Chris is an amazing doula!! From the minute we met her, we could feel her warmth...we knew she was the right fit for us! Chris is an incredibly kind and supportive individual - she motivated US both throughout my 30 hour labor. She was by our side the entire time, providing whatever we needed - encouraging words, back rubs, sips of water, spoonfuls of honey :) Both my husband and I benefitted from her presence and we feel honored to have had her share in the birth of our daughter. I HIGHLY recommend Chris to anyone who is looking for a doula!
