My experience with breezy peterson was the awesomest/AMAZING ever. She was right there when i called her to let her know i was going into labor. She made the labor easy and calming for me. I did do it all natural with a mirror at the end of the bed. She came back the next day to see the baby. I told her when i have the next baby this time it will be in a tub and she will be the one i call. I really liked her and glad I had her in the room with me. I would not have done it any other way :)
I met Breezy as a result of scanning Criagslist ads one day. She was offering her services for free, and I though why the heck not!? Turns our she lived a stones throw away (literally) and we had many mutual friends. My experience with Breezy as my doula was amazing. She taught my husband and I soo much about the strength of women, and exactly what my body was intended to do. She was there whenever I needed anything, and helped encourage a hunger for knowledge when it came to my labor. She was always letting me know about new resources and classes. I had a long and difficult labor and the added support of a doula was an unmeasurable necessity I didn't know I had. For a young couple having their first baby, having a peer at your constant disposal to qualm your fears should be the very first thing on EVERYONE'S baby registry. Not only was Breezy amazing while I was pregnant, but once my bundle of joy was out in the real world, I think that was when the calls/texts REALLY picked up! People are always saying babies don't come with an instruction manual, well they do if you've got Breezy! :D
The first time I met Breezy was when i was walking my dog on the Navy base our husbands were stationed on she was in mid pregnancy with her second beautiful little girl, and she was on her hands and knees playing with her oldest in the yard. We stopped (my dog and I) to tell her how awesome it was she was crawling on the ground lol. Anyway that was the beginning of a beautiful friendship. I had asked her if she would mind being in the room with me when i gave birth to my first son, when i found out i was pregnant. I guess she didn't think i was serious cause I was only a few weeks along. If ever i had a question she was there with an answer, book, or website for me to check out. I was about halfway through my pregnancy when she told me she wanted to become a Doula. Having no idea what it was she explained it to me and i knew it was a perfect match for her. I asked her if she was still planning to be with my husband and I when I had my son and she was so excited. I was so excited I could be her first client. She still hadn't gotten through all her doula schooling but she was amazing with my husband, my mom who just happened to fly in the day I gave birth, and I. She would hold my hand during contractions. Speak to me so softly and calmly that it calmed me down. Rubbed my husband’s head to calm him down, as well as ease my mom’s hesitation of me trying an all natural birth. My labor was only 6 hours and i had Pitocin the only thing i had to help was a little Nubain and Fenigrin. and that was taken 30 min prior to my son. I love Breezy and will hate it if she can't be there for my next.
I don't have enough good words for this amazing lady. I found her ad by chance one day while searching on craigslist and , after our first meeting, I just knew that she would be a perfect fit for the birth of our second child. I went into the last few weeks of my pregnancy thinking he would come early and quick. I was not prepared for him to be almost a week late and for the delivery to be so quick ( 3 1/2 hours from waking up at home w/ contractions to delivery ). Breezy kept in constant contact with me that last week, offering every tip to bring on labor she could think of, offering to take me out to coffee in hopes that getting me out and about would help, and just checking in to see how things were going. The morning of his birth she arrived at the house quickly, drove with us to the hospital and was such a calming helpful presence. I couldn't have done it without her!
Her post-partum visit was just like having a dear friend over to show off the new babe. She was full of tips for nursing and has a genuine love for each of "her" babies. I am truly blessed to know her and call her my friend.
In fact, number 3 will be here shortly and , even though we are states away from each other, I am flying her here to be there when our newest addition is born. My husband most likely will not be home for the new ones arrival and when I asked him he said that if he couldn't be here, Breezy was the only person he trusts to be there with me. Can't get a better recommendation than that. :)
I initially contacted Breezy because of an ad offering her services to wives of those deployed. I am so glad that I did...I had a history of complicated births and she dove right in and stood by us through all of the joys and pains of our final pregnancy even though my hubby made it home in time and the birth itself was not as natural as one would have hoped. She is an amazingly compassionate woman who is more than willing to go above and beyond to help make your birth experience everything that you want it to be.
