Maybeth was a fantastic help during my long labor. My water broke 1 week before my due date and labor did not onset. Maybeth worked with me to try and naturally induce labor. Unfortunately, after 3 days my labor did not progress and so the hospital started me on pitocin and a foley balloon to try and progress my labor. Maybeth was with me throughout every step helping me to relax and avoid any further medication. She provided phenomenal support and guidance and without her I'm sure I would have felt lost and unsure of what to do. Furthermore, she used several tools to help at various points of the labor. She even did several follow ups at my house, working with me to help establish proper breastfeeding. I can not say enough about how fantastic Maybeth was from beginning to end. I can guarantee when it's time for my next child I will absolutely be giving Maybeth another call!

At 36 1/2 weeks due to a high risk pregnancy I was induced. With my induction beginning on Thursday, we had Maybeth on standby due to scheduling conflicts with my original doula should the LD last into Friday evening/Saturday. Maybeth joined us on Friday afternoon...this was basically my first meeting with her. I was a little nervous because I didn't know her as well as my doula and I didn't know what to expect. The entire time she kept my husband and I very calm, clear headed (important for all of our decision making), and always laughing. We went on walks around the hospital, she was very helpful with the contractions, and overall did an amazing job. As I said, my situation was unique and on Saturday morning I was stil only about 1cm dilated, so we had to use a foley bulb to help open my cervix. Let us just say it is the MOST excruciating experience; basically a bulb is inserted and filled with water, when the cervix opens at 3-4cm the bulb falls out. For 35 minutes, Maybeth sat there holding my hand while I cried. She was so attentive to me tried so many ways to help me feel as comfortable as I could. Once the horrific ordeal was over, we walked a couple of times...during those times when I had a contraction, Maybeth would hold up on my stomach (in order to help the baby flip around-due to me having some back labor, we had assumed baby was upside down, so this was in attempt to flip baby over)...it worked after a couple of tries and I felt the baby flip. Maybeth went above and beyond what I am sure are the typical doula duties...being that she wasn't even my original doula, she had just met my husband and myself, and the length of time this labor was taking. It was difficult for her to leave when my other doula returned because she had now become vested in this LD. Maybeth was such a great help to myself and my husband! If/when I ever need a backup again...she's my first choice!

Maybeth attended my 3rd birth. She was amazing. I was planning on birthing at home and needed someone to fullfill the everything position but there priority was going to be my 2 year old and my 5 year old. During my labor in the wee hours of the morning Maybeth came over and took care of my very awake children. She fed them, escorted them into the room I was laboring, even got my 2 year old to sleep (total miracle since he was used to nursing to sleep at that time) At one point during labor I was hungry and wanted some eggs. This inspired my kids to be hungry as well. She was right there making sure there needs were met. This enabled me to relax and not worry while laboring the whole 4 hours I was in labor. It also enabled my husband to tend to me and make sure I had everything I needed, including filling up the birth pool and making calls to midwives and other doulas. Maybeth was a key part of my birthing team. When it was time for the baby to come out she had just poked her head in the room, I did not even know this she was so silent. Whenever my husband needed help throughout my labor she was there to assist, what a multi tasker!!! After my little guy was born she went and got my 2 year old so he could meet his newest sibling. She also helped to take care of baby while I was showering. Before she went home in the morning she made sure we had everything we needed, including take out. She is the best,a total gem!!!

Maybeth agreed to be my doula on the night I was going into labor! (My other doula had to be out of town and Maybeth was recommended to me.) So she readily agreed and I'm so glad that she did! She was a great fit! She came to my house at 2 a.m. and helped us get to the hospital right away (even though we had never previously met). She was very knowledgable and gave both my husband and I guidance. The whole way there, I kept saying, "Are you SURE I can do this?" And she was very patient as she continued to reassure me - even though I asked it a billion times! (I was hoping to give birth naturally with the Bradley Method.) She walked with me around the hospital and helped press on my back when I decided to get into the bathtub (not a small task). She helped my husband know HOW to help me! And during the birthing process, she was calm, reassuring, and assertively guided me through it. She held my hand and was at my side the entire time! And boy am I glad that she was! It gave much much peace and the extra "motherly" presence I needed. She even came to our house a week later to see how I was doing. I whole-heartedly recommend Maybeth as a doula. I think the thing I liked best was her peaceful demeanor and her intuitive way of knowing when and how to best support us! You won't be disappointed!

I met Maybeth Eberle from taking a birthing class. She was one of the doulas the birthing instructor recommended and I am sure glad she did! Maybeth took the time to get my questions answered and to get to know me before I went into labor which helped set me at ease. I will not go into detail about my labor and birth but I know the experience would have been completely different without Maybeth there. I was in active labor for 56 hours and Maybeth was there by my side. She gave my husband time to sleep and relax when my contractions slowed down. She was able to tell which stage of labor
