Client Testimonials for Andie Gunter

I could not have had such a wonderful, low intervention, natural birth without Andie! She recommended Dr. Baird, whom I ended up choosing for my prenatal care. Andie is also very willing to share all of her knowledge and experience whenever you have a question or concern. Not only was she my Doula, but we also took her childbirth classes and I learned SO MUCH and was very prepared for the birth of my son! I couldn't have done it without her!! She was not only great support for me during my 36 hours of labor, but she was able to help my husband understand the process and how to help. I would highly recommend Andie's Doula services and childbirth classes to anyone wanting to experience all that a natural birth process has to offer. I would not change a thing and I would definitely be blessed to have Andie as my Doula for my next pregnancy and birth.

Andie was my doula for a planned homebirth VBAC in May 2011. We chose Andie for her knowledge and experience with comfort measures, positioning to help with labor, and her wonderful demeanor and calming energy. She was very well-recommended by a friend who had achieved a hospital VBAC with Andie as her doula, and we knew Andie should be the doula for us! Andie is steady, kind, and gentle, even while focusing her efforts on relieving pain and assisting the laboring process, with suggestions for beneficial movements and positions and a wealth of experience and 'tricks' for our HBAC: a birth ball, hot packs, counterpressure (for hours upon hours!), guidance through breathing. She provided constant, gentle, positive encouragement, even when my confidence gave way to fear through the journey. Andie is very professional, dedicated, and has a clear understanding and empathy for a woman's needs during labor and birth. I can't thank her enough for helping me through a long, intense labor - emotionally and physically - and I recommend her services without reservation!

I was so blessed to have Andie attend my VBAC with my second child. I originally thought that I would have to just automatically have another c-section because my first child was born that way due to breech presentation. After finding Andie, researching, and attending Birth Network meetings, I had the most positive birth experience I could ever imagine. I was able to deliver VBAC without the use of drugs for induction or pain in a hospital setting. I attribute most of that to the support that I received in the form of pressure points to relieve tension and the aptly placed heat pack on my uterus during tough contractions. I am so thankful for Andie's services and highly recommend her to anyone seeking a low-no intervention child birth at home or in a hospital setting.
