Jennifer was a wonderful post partum doula. This was my second c-section birth. Jennifer was able to help in the transition after my husband went back to work while I was still on many lifting restrictions. She was a great resource and was very helpful. I especially loved how she took the time to prepare healthy snacks for me for the days that she was not there. It was great to be able to grab a prepared snack while I sat down to nurse the baby. I highly recommend Jennifer.
Jennifer is amazing! She is very easy to have in your house – she quickly assesses what needs to be done and then just does it! My two year old loved having her around, and she is very at ease with a newborn as well. When I told her that it would be helpful to have some snacks, she went into the kitchen and made the most wonderful snacks and mini-meals out of ingredients that I had in my kitchen. She is very creative and a wonderful cook! Everything was delicious, and each time after Jennifer left, I felt as though a fairy had been in my house. She left fresh water, homemade trail mix, and fruit next to my nursing chair in addition to plenty of sandwiches and healthy snacks in the refrigerator. Whenever something needed to be done (a diaper change, lunch for my two year old, etc), she just did it. Every new mother needs a Jennifer!!!
Jennifer stepped in as our postpartum doula after we brought our baby home from a NICU stay. We were run ragged by the long days at the hospital and had been surviving on fumes for two weeks following a complicated birth. She stepped right in and did what we needed, which was mainly to prepare nutritious food for the week. We are so thankful that she did this, and she happens to be a wonderful cook! From basic snacks to Emeril's recipes, she whipped up large batches of foods that we could eat throughout the week for lunch and dinner. It was a tremendous comfort, and it felt luxurious to have such amazing treats sitting in the fridge every time we got hungry!
Also, Jennifer is amazing with babies. Our little boy wouldn't let mommy put him in the Maya sling, but Jennifer was able to set him in her sling comfortably. It was an amazing sight to see her whisking around the kitchen with our baby sleeping soundly in the sling!
What to say about Jennifer... Lovely, practical and a great listener .......
At the Doula night I met Jennifer. I was look for a hands-on, open-minded and caring Doula as I do not have family living in the USA. On the Doula night we discussed my breastfeeding questions as I was not keen on breastfeeding, however she convinced me to give it a try. I thought she is my perfect doula!
I can only say that Jennifer has been a great support with the breastfeeding and I love it now! As new parents, we had a lot of questions and sometimes concerns about our son ( basic baby care, sleeping, colds, gas etc.) and it was a joy to discuss this with her. Her advise has been very useful and it has given us, as family, the confidence we needed to take care of our son and enjoy every minute of our time with him.

Jennifer was truely a lifesaver!! She is so knowledgable about breastfeeding, babywearing, soothing techniques to name just a few. She is a warm, caring person who I felt immediately comfortable with. She is so efficient and does not waste one minute. On our first 3 hour visit she took time to get to know us a bit, went to the grocery store for us, did laundry, made up a bunch of healthy snacks and tutuored us on baby care. As an anxious new Mom I valued her insight and ability to "go the extra mile" with me in helping to ease my anxiety. I highly recommend Jennifer to any Mom!
My husband and I cannot say enough wonderful things about Jennifer...I'm not sure how we would have coped in the first 6 weeks without her. She is warm, caring, and supportive. She helped reassure us when we had doubts about baby care and breast feeding and was understanding when I was tearful and overwhelmed as a new Mom! Doing laundry, cleaning up the kitchen and making healthy snacks were among a few of the things that we found very helpful. And not to mention, loving on our baby while I took a nap!!!! I've told all of my friends and even random pregnant moms at my OB/GYN's office about how wonderful a service post pardum doulas provide, especially with Jennifer...she was a life saver!! If we have another child in the future, we will definitely have Jennifer come back! With much appreciation, The Blewitts
Jennifer was my post-partum doula for several weeks after my daughter Jenna was born in February 2009. She was an excellent help during a very tiring, stressful time. She was so warm and calming and really helped me relax during those initial tiring weeks. One of the things I loved is that Jennifer really catered her help to my particular needs. When we first met, I told her that I had been forgetting to eat. She went into my kitchen and made small individual snacks that I could easily grab during the busy days. She even put the snacks next to my breast pump and bed so I could have some during the night. On days when I needed sleep, she would watch my daughter and help with laundry or whatever needed to be done at the time. She was also respectful of my choices for my daughter (such as supplementing breastfeeding with formula) and gave helpful suggestions without judging or questioning me on my choices. I would highly recommend Jennifer as a postpartum doula to any lucky mom that can have her!

Jennifer is a treat!! She came to help us as a post-partum doula several weeks after our first baby was born. I was feeling overwhelmed and Jennifer came in and immediately helped me to feel that I was doing a good job and could face all of the new challenges I had. Jennifer loves babies and is so wonderful with our daughter. During our first visit, I quickly realized how good Jennifer was in the kitchen. We ended up using Jennifer mostly for her chef services. She and I would talk about meal plans and Jennifer would grocery shop, cook the most fabulous dishes (chicken enchiladas, breakfast burritos, homemade chocolate chip cookie dough, spinach/walnut/mandarin orange salad with rasberry walnut dressing, camembert cheese spread with pumpernickel toast points...just to name a few!!) and then clean the kitchen and disappear, leaving us with delicious meals. Jennifer helped me to get comfortable with the change from career woman to full-time mom/housewife. She is fabulous in every way. Our baby lights up when she sees her...and, so do my husband and I!
