I cannot say enough great things about Kristen! She met us at the hospiital at 3:30 a.m. and stayed by my side until our son was born. She knew my wishes and offered such positive encouragement throughout the entire labor. Even though I had planned on a natural birth, she was so supportive when I ended up needing an epidural and assured me that I wasn't a failure! I would use Kristen again as a doula in a heartbeat and would recommend her to anyone looking for one!

Kristen was exactly what we needed alongside my husband and midwives. She was a calming presence for both my husband and I, while being a great connecter in communicating about our progress to the midwives. This was my first time using a doula and now I understand how essential having a doula is. Anything you need her to be during your labor, she will be there. When I needed someone to hold my hand through the end of my labor, she was there. When I needed to drink more fluids or have a snack, she ran to get it while my husband stayed at my side. After our birth, she followed up with us and made sure we were all doing well. She became just like another family member!
We had a home-birth and prepared for the birth using the hypnobirthing method. I felt completely supported by her by using this technique and being at home.
Five words to describe her: safe, calm, positive, approachable, and dependable.
Thanks Kristen!

Kristen was present for the birth of twins I carried as a surrogate mother in April of 2010. She is a considerate and respectful doula and was flexible in addressing both my concerns and the needs of the babies' intended parents. Due to the twin pregnancy and surrogacy, I had to agree to an induction in the hospital, which was pretty scary to me. Kristen helped me keep focused on asking important questions and helped me remember my desires for the birth. It's hard to think of everything "in the moment" when you are in labor, so having another person to be a second brain is immensely helpful. Kristen was able to suggest position changes and interpret my labor mumbling to my husband, for instance, "I think she meant for you to rub her back, not give her a drink." Overall, Kristen is a fantastic, talented doula and I would gladly have her at my next birth.

<Enevitably though I had to have a C-section and we had to leave Kristen in the waiting room with our parents. We wanted her with us in the surgery but there were too many people in the surgical room :( However before we went for surgery Kristen went over the "after birth" part of our birth plan with our nurses and the doctors to make sure they all knew our wishes. When we got wheeled out of recovery and back to our room, Kristen was the first one we called for. She was going to be the first one in the room for the birth...it just didn't work out that way...so she was the first one to see our sweet baby boy! Kristen and I have stayed in touch over the past 10 months and we send her pictures and cards updating her on our baby's life. She became a MAJOR part of my life the day we met for smoothies and I can't thank her enough for being such a sweet, caring and loving person. Kristen comes HIGHLY recommended by myself, my husband, my mother and father because if it weren't for her keeping me strong and focused I believe that I would have given into the pressure to conform to what my doctors wanted me to do and not what I wanted to do. Thank you Kristen!!!!

I found Kristen through the DONA website after learning about doulas in our childbirth class. Kristen and I met for smoothies and I was instantly smitten with her and her personality. She is such a warm and caring individual and is truly interested in YOU and YOUR family and knowing everything about YOU. She ventured up to our house (30 miles from the hospital) to make sure she knew how to get there before I went into labor. She wanted to meet my husband, get the layout of the house for pre-labor and meet our other children (the 4 legged ones). She helped me with making my birth plan and getting any and all information and resources about any question I had. We were ready to go with our plan, but my body wasn't. At 36 weeks I was admitted into the hospital and put on immediate bed rest. I was so freaked out, Kristen was who I called, because i knew she could make sense of what was happening to me. She came to the hospital with as much information as she could find about my problem. She was there to answer all our questions! While on bed rest we tried to induce for 3 days and noooo baby but I had Kristen there every minute. We were changing positions, walking when they would let me, talking and just making the best out of the situation. She was the best thing for my husband and I. She stayed in the room with me when the doctors came in to check me or to update of us on my situation and then when the doctors left my husband, Kristen and I would discuss my REAL choices, not what the doctors were telling me we HAD to do.

Kristen was a fantastic doula and really made me feel comfortable during labour. I had a wonderful birth experience and think that the support and reassuranceI received from Kristen and my husband made all of the difference. She was an asset and a joy to have around, and my husband didn't feel usurped or left out of the process, but more like part of a team. It was great for him to be able to grab a quick bite earlier in the process without fretting over whether or not I would be aliright. I highly reccomend her to anyone considering a doula.
