We hired Cydney after multiple recommendations from family and friends and would HIGHLY recommend her to others in the future. 

She was a HUGE support to us as we navigated the challenges and overwhelm of having our first child. With the multitude of information out there, Cydney was a personable and professional resource for all things baby and delivery. She was very accomodating working around our schedule and fit us in later in our pregnancy for multiple sessions in a short period of time. Her knowledge and calm attitude for our prenatal education sessions was much needed and valued to ease our nerves. We appreciated that she would provide  information but never pressured us one way or the other as we determined our birth plan/ perferences. 
During delivery, her calm and professional attitude helped us get through our short but intense labour and delivery. As our little one came early, we were not as prepared as we had wanted, but Cydney was always there to offer a boost of confidence and reminders to what we had previously discussed on preferences. We could not imagine what it would be like to do this journey as first time parents without her support.

My husband and I hired Cydney to be our doula for our first born son! 

I had two close friends recommend hiring a doula (specifically Cydney) and it was the best decision we made from the beginning of third trimester until 6 weeks post birth. From the initial meeting, we knew Cydney was open to what worked best for us as a couple without judgment, she knew the route to a safe recovery and healthy baby for any scenario and used a flash card game to teach us what to expect before and after the deliver room. 
During the delivery, Cydney was more than willing to partake but when we felt safe and wanted privacy in the hospital, she knew when to give us our space. When I called her in the few weeks after, she responded immediately and came right to my house to sit with me and discuss the post baby blues. With Cydney I felt safe to be vulnerable and ask any question! Cydney always had advice to give, an article to read, a video to watch or a story from previous experience. 

Cydney was always there when I needed her and having someone impartial (not a direct friend or family member) was extremely helpful because I felt like I was able to make every decision with my husband, just with extra guidance and someone non judgemental to bounce ideas off of. 

I can't thank Cydney enough for being our doula and we can't wait to have her at our little boy's birthday or milestone parties!

When I got pregnant, I knew I wanted a doula as I read having one improved birth outcomes. Little did I know how much of a blessing having Cydney in our corner would be.

My husband and I interviewed a few doulas before we hired Cydney. She is such a genuinely caring individual, that we connected with her immediately. The way she approached each situation, helped us learn various scenarios and feel prepared for birth. This was our first baby, and we had no idea what we were getting ourselves into. Cydney explained everything, and there were no silly questions, making us feel comfortable and confident going into every doctor appointment or any symptom that popped up. I was so grateful to have her support throughout the whole pregnancy, during birth and afterwards. She will forever hold a special place in our family. I would wholeheartedly recommend Cydney to anyone who is pregnant.

After experiencing a traumatic birth with our premature firstborn, my husband and I decided to do everything in our control to help make our second birth a more positive experience. This involved hiring Cydney as a part of our birth team. Since our first meeting, Cydney was positive, bubbly, confident & knowledgeable. She listened to our fears and anxieties and ensured that we knew we had choices when it came to my labour and delivery. I feel like having Cydney as a part of our birth team was a huge reason that our daughter's birth was such a more positive experience. We felt more educated, supported and ultimately in control (of the things we could be). I highly recommend hiring Cydney as your doula, especially if you're feeling like your previous birth experience/s didn't go well. She is wonderful and will be with you every step of the way!

We had an awesome experience with Cydney. As this was my first pregnancy, I was very nervous and had a lot of questions. Cydney did a wonderful job of reassuring me, while remaining honest, and confidently answered all of my questions. 
My daughter came a few weeks early, but Cydney still made sure to be in my room when I came out of surgery. It was such a comfort to see her. She helped me with initial breastfeeding and brought us some food. Her calm and positive presence was a huge support to my partner as well. 
Cydney is a gem and I would certainly recommend her to anyone looking for a doula!

I'm SO glad I chose to hire a doula and grateful to have met Cydney. Not having had a doula for my second pregnancy, I really felt that I needed one for my 3rd as I had a lot of anxiety and dread going into this birth. Cydney offered support and encouragement in the weeks leading up to the birth and checked in often. When it came time for labor, she was exactly what I needed when I got to day 2 of labor and felt myself hit a wall. She helped coach me through positions to help with progress, gave me caring encouragement and affirmed me through everything. I have zero regrets for making this the decision to have a doula this time and I really feel like it can be a game-changer for being able to stay at home to continue laboring instead of hitting a wall and giving up. So incredibly thankful for how she came alongside our whole family in the weeks we got to have her as part of our baby journey!

Cydney is not only an amazing and supportive doula, she is just such a lovely person. She is so kind, understanding, non-judgmental and informative. She'll laugh at your terrible jokes and 5 seconds later give you tough love. Cydney listened to my previous traumatic birth story and helped me successfully achieve a VBAC with my second son. Cydney approached my anxiety and worries with such tenderness and honesty which was wonderful. She boosted my confidence, answered any questions I had and kept in touch asking how things were going consistently. During labour, she advocated, asked questions and clarified things for me when I was in the depth of contractions and couldn't comprehend myself what was being offered for interventions at the hospital. She knew instantly when to step in and when to back off. I would recommend her to anyone wanting more support through their birthing experience. She truly loves her job and you can tell. Both my husband and I enjoyed having her with us and we will be forever grateful for her support in bringing our son into this world.

My husband and I felt a wonderful connection to Cydney from the moment we met her. As first-time parents moving to Edmonton towards the end of our pregnancy, we were looking for a doula who could offer us trusted insight, consistent support, and friendly encouragement. Cydney gave us all of this and so much more. She went above and beyond for us, whether it was answering texts and calls in the middle of the night or guiding us through options as we made tough decisions in the hospital. There are so many layers to the help and guidance that Cydney provides to her clients. She was an incredible support to my husband as he advocated for us and our daughter during our challenging birth and recovery journey. It is apparent that Cydney is meant to be a doula and we would wholeheartedly recommend her services to anyone. She is strong, patient, and steady, but also extremely calming and friendly. Cydney was nothing short of amazing before, during and after the birth of my baby. I was initially hestiant to bring a doula on to my support team as I had one with a previous pregnancy but didn't have the most positive expereince. If I had known the experience with Cydney was going to be so much better I would have reached out sooner. 

During the pregnency Cydney was an amazing support and helped me identify aspects of the birth that are the most important to me and worked with me for how these could be acheived. During labour she picked up whatever task needed to be done without anyone even asking - she just knew what to do and how to support both me and my partner. Afterwards Cydney was great at checking in with me to ensure things were adjusting well and that I was supported.  

Throughout everything Cydney brought an amazing positive energy that you could see depsite everyone wearing face masks. Her knowledge and skills are impressive and she was highly adaptable during some of the most intense moments of labour. I am so incredibly happy with the birth and thankful I had Cydney there - I couldn't imagine doing it again without her.

I was initially apprehensive about hiring a doula for my birth. This was my second pregnancy and I wasn't sure if it would be "worth it." Man - was I wrong! Cydney was a godsend throughout my entire labour and delivery. My birth plan didn't go to "plan" but having Cydney there helped both me and my husband so much. I am so thankful for Cydney being a part of my journey bringing my daughter into this world.

Our journey with Cydney was incredible to say the least. From day one until after birth, and even now, she's been such a tremendous support and an excelled source of knowledge. I would have questions after questions and not once at any point in this jpurney did she make me feel like I wasn't welcome to ask anything.

Cydney’s knowledge, expertise and support was invaluable during my first pregnancy. She provided helpful information during our prenatal visits and was quick to respond to our questions and concerns leading up to my delivery. My husband and I were so grateful to have Cydney’s support in the hospital. She was our advocate and made me feel empowered to make my own decisions regarding my delivery, such as choosing my birth positions and deciding when I was comfortable to start pushing.  Cydney was also readily available during our postpartum period and was quick to provide advice when things came up in the middle of the night. I will definitely be hiring Cydney for all my future pregnancies.

Having Cydney on out team really put our minds at ease leading up to my due date of my first pregnancy. Cydney and Whitney helped us navigate early signs of labour and contractions at home, in the days leading up to the birth of our daughter. If you are planning a medicated or non medicated birth, I would highly recommend Cydney and Whitney as doulas to help you feel confident and empowered during labour and delivery!

I had my second child with Whitney and Cydney as my doula about 2 months ago. I first connected with them at around 30 weeks and instantly knew that the 4 of us, my husband included, had a great connection. Having a doula with my first birth with whom My husband and I didn’t connect with as strongly, I knew how important this strong connection was to a successful relationship. I had initially been a bit hesitant on the structure they worked with while having one of them on call each week however that was never even remotely an issue. I always felt cared for and that they were in constant communication about who was handling what. Whitney and Cydney visited us multiple times at our home while we were pregnant and always worked with our hectic schedule to make these times work. They offered a supportive shoulder to both myself and my husband about the emotional and physical struggles of pregnancy during these sessions. Additionally, these ladies were only ever 1 phone call or text away for both of us. There strength, support and confidence in me helped me to feel strong and capable to attempt a homebirth.

In the days/weeks leading up to delivery while I was in early labor they were always offering suggestions for easing discomfort, reminding me to rest, or just plain checking in on my mental state. Once I was in active labor and requiring a bit more help, Whitney (the doula on call that week) was over to our house promptly and immediately my husband and I felt a sense of relief come over us knowing Whitney (in conjunction with the midwife) would have a few more tips and tricks to help us through. Our baby was born in about 1.5 hours from when Whitney and our midwife arrived and she assisted my husband with filling our pool for the water birth, provided soothing counter pressure, encouraging words to help me through, and also many laughs.

Once baby was born Whitney had to hang out with our older son who decided he wanted to meet the new baby right away instead of sleeping and then of course she helped clean up, make me a meal, start laundry, and of course tucked me into bed with promises of checking in on me later that day. When I got out of bed later that day you never would have guessed only hours earlier I had delivered a baby as everything was back to normal!

My physical post partum journey was much easier than my first but my mental state was a bit shakey. As you may guess, Cydney and Whitney were incredible resources who frequently touched base via text or calls, sent food, provided appropriate suggestions and gave me a sense of community I did not otherwise have.

I will never forget the emotions I felt with this birth - The calmness, strength and confidence I felt doing it at home. All of which I know were a direct correlation of the incredible team that was present - my husband, the midwives, and of course my doulas Whitney (and Cydney in spirit).  If or when another baby comes around, these ladies will be one of my first calls. I would recommend them to anyone seeking a doula, and also encourage those who don’t think they need a doula to look into them also as they are an asset to your pre/post natal and birth experience!

My journey with Cydney started when I was in my third trimester with my third child. I had gone through most of my pregnancy thinking that I was well-prepared and emotionally equipped to not need additional support like I'd had the first two times. As my birthing time neared, I realized that I had missed having Doula support during my pregnancy, and would feel more confident knowing that support was available during my birth. I was extremely lucky that Cydney was available on such short notice. Cydney is one of the most radiant human beings that I've ever met. When people refer to others as "lighting up a room" - that's Cydney. She is a compassionate, non-judgemental person with a positive, reassuring mindset that will put any pregnant and birthing person at ease. During the remainder of my pregnancy, as my anxiety about my upcoming birthing time grew, Cydney supported me emotionally and checked in on me regularly. She was very knowledgeable in birthing comfort techniques, and her strong and calm presence made me feel very supported during my birth. I feel incredibly blessed to have had Cydney on my team during my pregnancy, and as part of my birthing team during labour, and would whole-heartedly and enthusiastically recommend her to anyone searching for a Doula.

Where do I even start about our journey with Cydney! When I first got pregnant, I had NO idea what a doula was or that they even existed. One by one, friends of mine started telling me about these magical beings called doulas. I started doing some of my own research and decided that I probably would want one, especially during a Covid pregnancy. Our goal was to have one consistent person by our side, from pregnancy to delivery and after, who would know what the heck was going on, since this was our first time around.

Cue Cydney.

We loved her from the second we met her. Her energy, confidence, and genuine personality was exactly what we needed. From our pre-natal sessions, text messages, phone calls packed with information, support and encouragement, Cydney always made me and my partner feel at ease. We had a hospital delivery and I LOVED every second in L&D with my partner on one side of me and Cydney on the other. I felt so comfortable and at ease and actually had so much fun!

If you can’t decide about getting a doula, and especially a doula named Cydney, DO IT!

Working with Cydney throughout my pregnancy and during my labour/delivery was definitely the right decision for my partner and I. Cydney was professional, knowledgeable, and approachable. She was a reassuring presence throughout every stage, and for that I'm so grateful! As first time parents, my partner and I both felt a lot better working with Cydney than if we had gone through this all on our own. I would highly recommend her to anyone who is considering working with a doula during their pregnancy.

It’s hard to know how to even begin this review of Cydney. She was everything I wanted her to be and everything I didn’t know I needed. This was my first successful pregnancy. We conceived our babe through IVF. It was just so important to me to have the most supported pregnancy and birth possible. Cydney answered any question I had via text - no matter how silly I felt like my question could be. The home classes were such a highlight to my week. Being pregnant during a pandemic is so lonely and isolating, the opposite of what you dream it to be, so having Cydney there made me feel happy and less alone in the journey. By the end of my pregnancy I was so happy that we had taken the plunge and hired a doula. But I didn’t even realize how much a doula does from early labour to postpartum! I was in early labour for a few days. Finally after 3 stretch and sweeps and 3 midwives brews - I was in active labour! It was a long and hard process. We had planned a home birth. Cydney applied pressure for HOURS. This is probably why she is in such great shape! Haha. After 7-8 hours of active labour, I just couldn’t take it anymore. I never envisioned transferring to the hospital especially during this time but I had the full support of both my midwife and Cydney. Cydney was amazing and even followed the ambulance from my house to the hospital. She continued to be by my side through the 2 agonizing hours of pushing, breastfeeding my son for the first time, using the washroom after my stitches were done, helping me out of the shower, helping me get dressed, fishing through my suitcase for baby items and even suggesting the kind of text to send my sister because I was exhausted. She was even by my side as we left the hospital that same day just 4 hours after the birth. Postpartum she continued to be a great help to both my husband and I. On our 1st visit after baby she surprised me with a bag of goodies and my sons birth story! I love Cydney!

Cydney came to our home birth as a backup doula. I originally decided I didn’t need a doula for my 2nd pregnancy as I figured I already knew the things we needed.At 37 wks I was ready for the birth but something was missing. I wondered how we would manage a toddler, arrange a pool, clean, have support for my spouse while he supported me, comfort measures, etc? My hubby read a lot on comfort measures but we knew that a doula comes with significant experience on how to apply these to each unique birth & birthing person.I struggled with PD & PA this time & I wish I hired a doula sooner. Once we hired again - I felt a weight lifted & could focus on the birth with less anxiety. Labour progressed faster than anticpated. Cydney came & we were relieved as we knew that she could care for me & manage anything that arose that my husband couldn’t. Her presence was comforting - it felt as if I'd known her my entire pregnancy - she brings a sense of peace. I debated on having a backup doula come because I wasn’t sure if I wanted someone I didn’t know there, but we don't regret having Cydney step in for our regular doula at all! She's invaluable!Cydney was for us, the essence of what a doula is; gentle, supportive, comforting, grounded, calm, & strong. Without her guidance & strength I wouldn't have had the experience that I did. My birth was swift & powerful. Internally I doubted myself, but each time Cydney’s guidance of breath, reassurance & techniques brought me back to myself in a way that no one else could. She gave me options to utilize & helped my spouse support me. I had an amazing experience at my 1st birth with a doula & the 2nd was just as wonderful. Thanks to Cydney I have an experience & even a few special photos to cherish. I recommend her to anyone looking for a doula. Thanks Cydney for supporting us, we won’t forget it!

Having Cydney as our doula was an amazing experience! As first time parents we had no idea what to expect and being pregnant during a pandemic did not allow us the opportunity to take prenatal classes or meet other parents going through the same thing. Cydney came to our house and educated us through her prenatal lessons. She was supportive any time we had questions and was very knowledgeable in a wide range of topics with the experience that she has. We really appreciated the support we received from her on labour day. It was nice to have someone in the room who knew what was going on and how to respond to the craziness of the day, giving us pointers on everything from labouring positions to preparations for the baby upon leaving the hospital. She documented everything in photos and print and presented us with our birth story in our final postpartum meeting which was really special!! Do not hesitate in getting a doula! It's a one of a kind support I'm glad we had!

Cydney was recommended to me by a coworker. I had not considered a doula as I was unsure of their role so I reached out to Cydney for information. I'm now 3 weeks post partum and I can't imagine what my experience would have been without her. Being pregnant during the COVID pandemic was difficult. It was so great to have an expert just a text away ready to answer questions and offer support. Because of Cydney, I felt confident in my knowledge and choices surrounding my birth experience.

Having Cydney as our doula has been such a wonderful experience!

The support has been so helpful every step of the way. She is kind, easy going, knowledgeable, and a voice of calm and reassurance. She just seemed to always know what I needed and never pushed or assumed anything. She gave me so much confidence in my own abilities.

Cydney was a huge support in helping me make informed choices and gave me as much information as I needed to make the best decisions for myself, my baby, and my family. During our sessions she had a great balance of sharing facts and asking questions to help us prepare for birth and our baby in a way that made sense for us as a family. She was always there to listen when I had a question. She was always encouraging and comforting and eased so many of my worries.

She was great about checking in regularly. She was always so flexible and respectful of what worked for our family. I am so grateful for her support during my journey. Thank you so much Cydney!

Part 2 of 2
Upon arrival at the hospital, Cydney was with me while my husband did paper work and we waited for the midwife. She wheeled me to the room, kept me calm and did whatever needed to be done for each contraction. 

For hours and hours, Cydney pushes and I mean PUSHED on my hips and lower back. We are talking using her WHOLE BODY to put pressure on me, it was the only thing that was helping. All of this while making sure to document important information during my labour and support my husband. 

After baby was born, Cydney help my hand and told me everything was going to be ok while I was stitched up. My husband was holding our baby for the first time. Cydney was by my side and made sure I was ok. She helped me into the shower, held my hand and talked to me while I showered. Cydney helped get us set up in our hospital room and was the last one to leave. 

Cydney provided lots of postpartum support through visits, which she brought all kinds of beautiful and meaningful surprises, and lots of text messages.

Overall, She advocated for my wishes, made sure I was as comfortable as possible and worked her butt off to make my labour and birth a beautiful and unforgettable expirence. I am so glad we hired Cydney to share in one of the most intimate expirences of my life. I could not have chosen a better doula. I wouldn't hisiate to recommend her to anyone. I also truly feel that I also gained a friend from my expirence with Cydney.

Part 1 of 2

Where do I even begin to explain how much I live Cydney? As soon we met with her I knew she would be the perfect fit. She was kind, sweet, knowledgeable without being a know it all, funny, REAL, down to earth, a Momma of two boys, open and simply lovely. Cydney provides excellent support before labour called. She came to our house and met with us whenever we needed her. She was willing to come as often as we wanted. She made us feel comfortable and informed. She answered all of my first time mom questions with ease and was always encouraging and supportive. She helped us set up a birth plan and knew exactly what to ask to help us in our journey and also gave great advice based on her expirence. 
When labour came, I texted Cydney to start then called her within the hour. We were both sure labour had started. She talked me through hours of contractions on the phone. She distracted me and kept me calm until I was ready to wake up my husband. She said if I felt like I needed to wake him up, it was time for her to come over. She came to my house at 3 am. She documented all the details of my labour throughout, which I didn't know at the time. She even took some beautiful pictures, again, I had no idea. She was supportive of my husband and I. We tried a number of different positions and techniques to ease the pain. Hospital time came at 6 am. Cydney helped us through each and every moment. Got shoes on the labouring Momma, turned out all the lights in the house, locked our doors, helped me down the stairs, held me while I yelled in pain with many contractions while trying to get to the car. She made sure I was comforted and supported with whatever I needed the whole time.

We are so grateful for Cydney’s presence at our last two births. Her knowledge and intuition are invaluable. Cydney was able to give me useful and up to date information and always be a listening ear through pregnancy, labour and post partum. She helped ease so many of my worries and wonderings through pregnancy. 

She has a gift for knowing just what is needed and when. She has a loving, positive, and safe presence. My kids, my midwife and especially my husband were so happy to have her as a part of our births. When we were pregnant with our son after having Cydney at our daughters birth, my husband was the first to say he wanted Cydney there because she was able to take care of so much while he took care of me. I would not want to go through pregnancy and birth without her! Thank you so much Cyd!
