I had an incredible experience with Jessica as my doula. As a nineteen year old single mom, with my son's father in the military I needed all the support I could get. I met with three doulas before deciding and had an instant connection with Jess. She understood the looks I got having a big belly and no ring on my finger. She understood that my only other support system were old school grandparents who believed nursing was for the poor and being completely unconscience during your labor was the best way to go. She took me on anyways. She educated me, helped me with questions to ask my doctor, and supported me when I switched at 30 weeks pregnant because of a lack of support in natural birthing options. She always treated me with respect, my body with respect and spoke to me like the young adult I was, instead of like a child. I had some special circumstances surrounding my delivery, a feared deployment, and an imminent death of a close family member, and she handled each with grace.
